Mayor Karen Majewski once again beat challenger Abdul Algazali in a tight race. Algazali trailed Majewski by 98 votes.
In the city council race for the three four-year term seats, incumbent Mohammed Hassan was the top vote-getter. Also serving in this position are Andrea Karpinski, who was the second highest vote-getter, and Titus Walters.
In the partial term seat, Abu Musa beat Ian Perrotta by 95 votes.
Four years ago Algazali took on the Majewski for the mayor’s job and lost by 124 votes. Algazali is currently a city councilmember but his term will end on Dec. 31.
Also leaving at the end of the year is City Councilmember Cathie Gordon who opted to challenge Majewski instead of seeking re-election to city council. She came in a distant fourth-place in the August Primary Election.
